Good evening everybody.
As promised, a short one about my mock exams, starting tomorrow with a triple treat of Maths, Physics and Computer Science.
As had been drilled into our skulls, these mock exams are more important than they would be in a ‘normal’ year because of their potential significance should Covid decide to undergo another metamorphosis and wreck the start of 2022. However, the announcement of the government this week that schools must conduct a second set of mocks in March time is slightly reassuring.
My friend Seth calculated that he's got a whole 24+ hours worth of exams. For me, it’s a shade under at 23.5 but with the going in-and-out, it will be a full day’s worth of joy in the exam hall.
For me, personally, I’d like to better my grades from the End-of-Year 10 Exams, in which in various subjects I was 1 or 2 marks of the next grade boundaries. And I feel I’m better equipped to accomplish this goal because I’ve definitely prepared harder, longer, better.
At the same time, I’m not putting too much pressure on myself and nobody shouldn’t. It’s not the end of the world and remember, it’s not the final thing. I’m framing it as a learning experience, to see where I need to work on and where I’m at. After all, there’s still 6 months to go…
So I wish all my fellow mock examinees (?) Good Luck with the exams 👍. Give it your best shot because, when all is said and done, that’s all you can ever do.
If you don’t have exams, nevertheless, have a lovely week.
Adi
